Three men have been charged in connection with a foiled robbery in Dublin on Friday.

The men, two in their 20s and one in his 40s, are due before court in Dublin this morning while four other men have been released without charge.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The men were arrested in an intelligence led operation which saw Gardaí stop a van on Rosemount Avenue in Artane on Dublin's northside on Friday afternoon.

They seized cars, a gun, balaclavas and other offensive weapons.
