A 15-year-old arrested in connection with the hijacking of a taxi in Dublin has been charged.

A 15-year-old arrested in connection with the hijacking of a taxi in Dublin has been charged.

He will appear at the Dublin Children's Court this morning.

The boy was detained after the incident on the Terenure Road in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A youth demanded cash from the driver and ordered him out of the car before driving away at speed and colliding with another car on the Old Cabra road.

Gardaí say a suspect detained later was released without charge in the early hours of this morning.
