Gardaí called as protesters confront Minister

Gardaí had to be called to a Dublin city-centre pub this evening as anti austerity protesters confronted Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte while he socialised in a bar on Baggot Street.

Minister Rabbitte was heckled and shouted at by demonstrators - who had earlier held a protest outside the Dáil.

Last August an angry protester threw insults at him while he ate lunch at Buswell's Hotel in Dublin city centre.
