Gardaí investigating a stabbing in Dublin have arrested a man in his late teens.

A 19-year-old man was seriously injured when he was approached and stabbed a number of times by another man outside Dundrum town centre at 11.15pm on Tuesday night.

He was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital where he is continuing to receive treatment.

A man was arrested this morning in the south Dublin area and is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Blackrock Garda Station.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Dundrum Garda Station 01 6665600 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
