A man in his 50s has been arrested after a suspect device was discovered in the car park of a hotel in Lucan in Dublin last night.

A man in his 50s has been arrested after a suspect device was discovered in the car park of a hotel in Lucan in Dublin last night.

The viable device was located in a car of the hotel at around 9pm, and Gardaí were called to the scene.

The hotel was evacuated and an Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended the incident.

The device was made safe and deemed to be viable.

The man is being held at Lucan Garda Station.
