Gardaí in Co Meath are appealing for witnesses to a shooting at a house in Slane last night.

Gardaí in Co Meath are appealing for witnesses to a shooting at a house in Slane last night.

A 39-year-old man was shot a number of times in the upper body and leg when he answered his front door in Dowth, just before 10pm.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A technical examination is to be carried out at the scene of the shooting.
