Gardaí in Cork have appealed for more information about a hit-and-run on Wednesday.

Gardaí in Cork have appealed for more information about a hit-and-run on Wednesday.

A 12-year old boy was hit by a car on Thomas Davis St in the Blackpool area of Cork city at around 9.15pm last Wednesday.

He was taken by ambulance to the Mercy University Hospital after the car involved in the incident failed to stay at the scene.

Gardaí have since been found the car and and are carrying out a forensic examination on the vehicle.
