Gardaí in Bray are appealing for information following a shooting incident in Greystones Co Wicklow on December 12.

Gardaí in Bray are appealing for information following a shooting incident in Greystones Co Wicklow on December 12.

Shots were fired during an incident involving a number of males at Farrankelly Road, Greystones at approximately 11.10am.

Two shots struck the car of a passing motorist during the incident.

The motorist and his passenger escaped injury.

Those directly involved in the incident fled the scene on foot and by car before the arrival of Gardaí.

Investigating Gardaí are anxious to locate two vehicles which may have been used in the incident.

One of the vehicles is described as a white/off white Ford Transit van; the other vehicle is described as a silver/light blue Audi A4 with a 08 registration.

No one was injured during the incident and no arrests have been made to date.

Gardaí are appealing for information and are particularly appealing to anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Farannkelly Road between 11am and 11.30am on December 12 and who may have seen the vehicles described above to contact them at Bray Garda Station 01 6665300, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Investigations are continuing.
