People in the Galway region are being encouraged to dump their old drugs today, as part of a pilot scheme that could be brought nationwide.

Seven pharmacies in Tuam will accept old medications and drugs with no questions asked today.

The people behind the scheme have said they are trying to raise awareness of the danger of sharing old meds.
