Four people were being questioned by detectives tonight in connection with a fatal stabbing in Limerick.
Gardaí launched a murder investigation after a man, who was believed to be in his 30s, was stabbed to death in the city.
The victim, who was named locally as Martin O’Donoghue, was found lying on the ground outside a pub in Limerick’s Broad Street shortly after midnight.
Gardaí said two men and two women were arrested at various locations on the north side of the city.
The group, all of whom are in their 20s and 30s, are being held at Henry Street and Mayorstone Garda stations over the stabbing.
The victim was brought to the Mid-Western Regional hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after the attack.
Gardaí said a man who was earlier arrested had been released without charge.
Forensic scientists have examined the scene of the incident and a post mortem examination was being carried out on the body.
