Four people have been arrested following an armed robbery in Dublin yesterday.

The incident happened at the Orwell Shopping Centre in Templeogue.

Just after 4pm yesterday afternoon, two armed men confronted a security guard as he was making a cash collection at the Orwell Shopping Centre.

The men escaped with a sum of money in a jeep which was found abandoned at the Spawell Hotel Car Park a short time later.

No shots were fired during the robbery and no one was injured.

In a follow up operation last night, two men and two women, ranging from their 20s to early 30s, were arrested after gardaí stopped a car in the Finglas area.

They are being held at Terenure and Rathmines garda stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act..
