A former solicitor is due to be sentenced today for stealing over €2.8m from client accounts.

A former solicitor is due to be sentenced today for stealing over €2.8m from client accounts.

Ruairi O’Ceallaigh of Collegeland, Summerhill, Co Meath pleaded guilty to seven charges last February and was remanded on bail.

The charges relate to dishonestly appropriating money from seven clients’ accounts between July 2006 and May 2010.

The individual sums of cash range from €75,000 to over €1.5m.
