Five due in court on terrorism charges

Five men are due in court today charged with membership of one of Northern Ireland’s main loyalist terrorist organisations.

Five men are due in court today charged with membership of one of Northern Ireland’s main loyalist terrorist organisations.

Each of them has been accused of belonging to the Ulster Volunteer Force, a police spokeswoman said.

They have also been charged with possessing items likely to be of use to terrorists and conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.

The charges relate to an incident on the Claddy Road in Randalstown on Monday.

The men are due to appear before Ballymena magistrates.
