The Minister for Justice will bring a formal memo to Cabinet tomorrow morning on the Guerin report.
It is expected Minister Frances Fitzgerald will ask her cabinet colleagues to sign off on an official government response to the report released last week
The contents of the report were discussed at a meeting of the Cabinet sub-committee on justice this afternoon.
That sub-committee features ministers from both Fine Gael and Labour, suggesting the two sides are already agreed on a government response to the findings of Sean Guerin's report, which triggered the resignation of Alan Shatter last week.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Leo Varadkar said he was fully supportive of the job that Frances Fitzgerald has to do in the department of justice.
His comments come after he said yesterday the department was in need of a major overhaul and was not fit for purpose.
