Fire still blazes after more than a day as residents warned about acrid smoke

Dublin Fire Fighters are continuing to tackle a serious blaze at Ballymount Industrial Estate.

The Oxigen recycling plant went up in flames at 3am yesterday.

Six units of Dublin Fire Brigade have been working through the night and remain at the scene this morning.

Serious structural damage has been caused by the blaze and a full Garda investigation will be launched to determine the cause.

Members of the public in the vicinity are being urged to keep windows and doors to their homes and businesses closed due to the acrid smoke from the burning material.

The area remains closed off to the public and diversions are in place.
