Finglas shooting leaves man in hospital

Forensic experts have arrived at a housing estate in Finglas in Dublin where a man was dumped from a car last night after being shot in the legs.

It happened just before 9pm, and the victim is being treated in hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

It is believed the man was thrown from a moving car at a cul-de-sac on Kilshane Road in Finglas.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was shot several times in the legs and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have yet been made but Gardaí are looking into the possibility it was some sort of punishment shooting.

Detectives are also trying to establish whether the man was shot at the scene before being dumped or was transported there afterwards.

A black BMW was spotted speeding through the estate last night and Gardaí believe this was used in the attack.

A team of forensic experts are examining the area as speak and the scene remains sealed off.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Finglas Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
