Fine Gael has published a proposed bill that would give victims of crime a greater voice in the legal process.

The bill has been published as part of the party's new victims' rights campaign.

The proposed legislation would give victims a right to get relevant information throughout the legal process.

It would also give them the right to make representations on convicted offender's applications for parole and release.
