FF warns public on Government IBRC loans sell-off

Fianna Fáil has said every mortgage holder in the country should be scared that the Government will allow their bank sell off their loans with no protections.

Addressing the party's Ard Fheis in Kerry today, finance spokesperson Michael McGrath criticised the coalition's handling of the sell-off of the IBRC loan book.

He warned the Government was failing in its duty to protect mortgage holders:

“Every single mortgage holder in this country, irrespective of who your mortgage is with, should be very concerned about this issue.

“If the government is prepared to sellout the IRBC mortgage holders in this way, then there is absolutely nothing to suggest that they would intervene if any other bank decides to sell the mortgage book.”
