Father finds son's dead body; Gardaí arrest woman in Dublin

A woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in south Dublin yesterday evening.

The victim, 42-year-old Tyrone McKenna, was found with what is believed to be a knife wound to his back.

The alarm was raised at around 5pm yesterday after Tyrone's body was found at the foot of the stairs of a house at Marley Court in Rathfarnham

It is understood his elderly father found him.

Neighbours say the family lived there for years but that Tyrone only recently returned with a girlfriend he had been seeing for the past few months.

The body remained at the scene overnight but has since been removed and a post mortem is due to be completed this afternoon.

The results of that will determine the shape of the Garda investigation but it is believed the 42-year-old was stabbed in the back.

The arrested woman was taken to Blackrock Garda Station where she can be held for a total of 24 hours, excluding rest periods.
