Exchequer figures reveal €11bn deficit

The country is sinking further into debt; the latest Exchequer figures show that a budget deficit of €11bn was recorded for the first 10 months of this year.

The country is sinking further into debt; the latest Exchequer figures show that a budget deficit of €11bn was recorded for the first 10 months of this year.

The figure compares to a deficit of €3.9bn this time last year.

Tax income is €3.5bn less than the same period in 2007.
