The ESB is looking for ambassadors for electric cars.
The company is inviting members of the public to apply to take part in an e-car trial for four months.
24 people will be chosen to drive one of a number of electric cars, while giving feedback on how they fit in with their lives.
The 'Great Electric Drive', as the initiative is called, includes cars such as the BMW i3, the Citroen C Zero, the Mitsubishi iMiEV, the Mitsubishi Outlander, and the Nissan LEAF.
"People are really beginning to engage with the potential of electric cars as more electric models come onto the market,” said Dermot McArdle, the company's head of ecars.
“An electric car costs less than two cents a kilometre to fuel and the average motorist could achieve running cost savings of almost €2,300 a year. Electric cars offer very real significant savings to Irish motorists.”
The closing date is March 4.
