A man has died in a car accident in Co Monaghan.

A man has died in a car accident in Co Monaghan.

The 70-year-old man died in a single-vehicle accident at Coolcollid, Glaslough, County Monaghan, some time between 6pm on Thursday night and 5am yesterday morning.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where a post mortem will be conducted.

The road was closed for a time for a forensic investigation and the road has since re-opened.
