Eight people have been arrested by gardaí after a man was stabbed to death during a street brawl.
The victim, who was in his early 30s, was pronounced dead at St James Hospital a short time after the knife attack, which happened in Sarsfield Road, Ballyfermot, at 9.15pm last night.
Four men and four women, all in their 20s, were arrested and are currently detained at garda stations across West Dublin.
Sarsfield Road was closed for forensic examination and diversions were in place.
Separately, gardaí in Galway are investigating the discovery of a man’s body at an apartment complex in Upper Salthill.
The man, who was in his 50s, was discovered at 10.30pm last night.
A woman in her 30s was arrested at the scene and taken to Galway garda station for questioning.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination.
The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified about both deaths.
