Dubliners remanded in custody awaiting extradition decision
Two Dublin men will find out next week if they will be extradited to the Netherlands in connection with the death of a man in Amsterdam.
The dismembered remains of Keith Ennis were found stuffed in a suitcase and dumped in one of Amsterdam's canals in March 2009.
The well-known Dublin criminal was on the run from Gardaí, having fled the country while facing gun and drug charges.
The Dutch police are seeking the surrender of Kenneth Brunell from Palmerstown and Barry McArdle from Drimnagh.
The High Court has already heard that a decision has been made to charge and try the two men in the Netherlands.
Lawyers for Brunell and McArdle have been fighting their extradition because they believe it would violate their constitutional rights.
The two men appeared before Mr Justice John Edwards today and he told them his judgement was at an advanced stage.
He said it would be ready by next Tuesday at the latest, and both men were further remanded in custody until then.
