Dublin landlord forced to hand over properties after he knocked door down and dragged occupant out

People who are being harassed by their landlord are being encouraged to ask the Residential Tenancies Board for help.

One Dublin landlord has been forced to hand over properties after some of his tenants were forcibly evicted last weekend.

They had already been getting advice after being continuously harassed and landed with illegal rent increases.

Michelle Connolly from Dublin Central Housing Action says the landlord knocked down the door and dragged the occupant out.

She said: "One guy was very seriously injured, he suffered bruised ribs and was in the hospital for a couple of days afterwards.

"Some went to stay with friends and are still sofa surfing, one or two have managed to sort somewhere else."
