The driver of the car was convicted IRA member 45-year-old Dermot Gannon, from Wellview Crescent, Mulhuddart, Co Dublin.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old Dublin man, seperately charged with membership of the IRA and unlawful possession of a firearm has been freed on bail, also by the Special Criminal Court.
