A south Dublin doctor was given fines totalling €4,500 today for failing to file tax returns to the Revenue Commissioners.

A south Dublin doctor was given fines totalling €4,500 today for failing to file tax returns to the Revenue Commissioners.

Joseph McDonnell of Prospect Drive in Rathfarnham pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court to four counts under the Taxes Consolidation Act for failing to file tax returns in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

The prosecution was brought by the DPP at the suit of the Revenue Commissioners.

Judge John O'Neill held that the fines he imposed, which totalled €4,500, must be paid within four months.
