Dublin Comic-Con offers 'zombie survival course'

Ireland's very own Comic Con kicks off in Swords today.

It is the second year the event has been held in at the National Show Centre and thousands of sci-fi and comic fans have the chance to be chased by one of the characters from the Alien films or take part in a zombie survival course.

Doc Houseman from Dublin City Comics, who set up the zombie survival course, says the event is fun for adults and kids alike.

"The props and stages are set up, they really capture the scenes from the [Alien] movie," he said.

"The alien's corridor, you can have an alien and a chest-burster and there's a load of guys dressed as colonial marines and if you’re a big fan of those movies, it's like it's been brought to life right in front of you.

"Then you've got the guests, the Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman. You get to go up and just shoot the breeze with the guy."
