Dublin Bus said it is investigating a photo which went viral on social media yesterday.

The company reports it took a 39A bus out of circulation after examining the image which appears to show used syringes and blood.

It is not yet known if it is real or not. Dublin Bus says a number of liquid medicine dispensers were found, but no needles. It is also believed that the wide-barrel dispensers pictured are unusual for recreational drug users.

Dublin West Councillor David McGuinness says even if the photo is a fake there are still a lot of questions to be answered:
