Donegal shooting victim named

The man who was shot dead in Donegal last night has been named locally as Andrew Burns from Drum Road, Strabane, Co Tyrone.

The man who was shot dead in Donegal last night has been named locally as Andrew Burns from Drum Road, Strabane, Co Tyrone.

The body of the 27-year-old was found with gunshot wounds near a church at Donnyloop in Castlefinn yesterday evening.

State pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy was carrying out a post-mortem this afternoon.

Reports suggest he may have been killed by the Real IRA on suspicion of being an informer.
