Doctors could be set to strike as part of a row with the HSE.
The Irish Medical Organisation is demanding management reinstate the €3,000 'living out allowance' for non consultant hospital doctors.
They say they wanted to negotiate a resolution, but are now taking their claims to the High Court next week.
Dr Paddy Hillery is chairman of the non-consultant hospital doctors' committee in the IMO - he says they'll monitor the outcome of the hearing: "At the moment there is a court action in place to assess this and to look at getting it reinstated.
"But if the HSE continues to break its contractual obligations, that they have entered in as part of the contract, we will have to consider all measure including going on strike."
