Update 6.30pm: A "Do Not Use" water notice for parts of Co. Meath has been lifted.

1000 households in the Kilcloon area were affected by high chlorine levels over the past few days.

Residents in Meath are criticising Irish Water over what they say is a lack of information about high chlorine levels in the local supply.

Around 1,000 housholds in the Kilcloon area are affected - and a public meeting will be held in the local community hall tonight.

The utility say the issue has been resolved - however tests are being carried out before a 'Don't Wash' notice can be lifted.

One of those impacted is local resident Grainne Whelan and she hit at the fact that residenst are not being upadted fully.

"We are not being told what chlorine is the water ... or how long it has been there.

"We have multiple reports of peole being ill .... We have children with rashes that coud in fact be be chemical burns."
