Disability campaigners resume Dáil protest

A protest by disability campaigners is resuming outside the Dáil this morning.

Members of the group met the Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Minister Kathleen Lynch last night, but said they were disappointed with the outcome.

They are calling for a €300m investment in disability services in the Budget - to address the cuts suffered during the recession.

One of the protesters, Martin Naughton, said that it is likely the campaign will intensify, after a 12-hour suspension overnight.

"I don't want to pre-empt what people's decisions will be, but I certainly think that's what was going to happen," he said.

"Because we actually suspended the campaign to give people, and to give ourselves, time to sleep on it, really."
