Cyclist killed in Clare accident

A cyclist has died after his bike was in collision with a car on the N18 in Co Clare this afternoon.

A cyclist has died after his bike was in collision with a car on the N18 in Co Clare this afternoon.

The accident happened near Carrigoran just before 3pm.

It is understood that the man, who was in his 30s, died at the scene.

The Northbound carriageway of the N18 between Carrigoran and the Dromoland Interchange will be closed until further notice so that a technical examination of the scene can be carried out.

Those travelling northbound from Limerick are being diverted through Newmarket-on-Fergus.
