Post mortems carried out on a couple found dead in Carlow yesterday have confirmed both died from gunshot wounds.

53-year-old John Deegan from Cadamstown, Birr, Co. Offaly and 51-year-old Deirdre Keenan of Carragh Road, Naas, Co.Kildare were found dead in a Bed and Breakfast in Carlow town.

Gardaí are tonight renewing an appeal for information from anyone in the Centaur St. area of Carlow between 10pm on Sunday night last and 1pm yesterday.

Gardaí also believe the couple travelled in the Wexford area on Wednesday and Thursday, 20th and 21st February, and would like to hear from anyone who may have had contact with them.
