Nobody has been elected as a result of the third count in the Midlands North West Constituency.

Sinn Fein's Matt Carthy is still the frontrunner after gaining some 3000 transfers - but is still below the quota.

Senator Ronan Mullen has now been excluded from the race.

Earlier Luke Ming Flanagan was the first to take the seat in the 15 county constituency.

The count has been suspended until 9 am tomorrow morning.
