Council upgrades two trees to protected status

Two trees in Dublin are being upgraded to protected status today.

Two trees in Dublin are being upgraded to protected status today.

The Tree Council of Ireland was out in Simmonscourt Castle in Ballsbridge this morning recording data from these heritage trees - which it says is the only way to protect them.

The status of the two trees - an ancient Judas and a Yew tree - will be based on age, girth and species.
