Cork City Council has issued a flood alert for the next four days.

Cork City Council has issued a flood alert for the next four days.

The council says a tidal surge and strong winds will increase water levels and it is warning of flooding in low-lying parts of the city centre.

Householders and businesses are being urged to take precautionary measures to protect their property, with this evening - Thursday - being singled out as a particular risk.

The next high tide is at 6.20pm this evening.

Saturday: 7.27am and 7:47pm

Sunday: 08.15am
