The inquest into the deaths of six people in a plane crash at Cork Airport three years ago has heard harrowing evidence from five survivors of the crash.

A survivor of the aircrash has told the inquest how she thought she would be burned alive.

Heather Eliot is one of five survivors telling her story this morning at the opening of the inquest into the six deaths.

The Manx airline's plane crashed on the runway at Cork airport after three aborted attempts at landing in dense fog on February 10 2011.

Survivors have also praised the speed and efficiency of the rescue operation by emergency services at Cork Airport.
