Customs Officers at Cork Airport have seized 120,000 cigarettes with a retail value of €56,886 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of €43,770.
The "Marlboro" brand cigarettes were discovered in twelve suitcases last night when officers stopped and searched four men as they disembarked a flight that had arrived in from Poland.
Two Polish nationals in their twenties were arrested by officers, appeared at Cork District Court today and were remanded in custody to appear at Cork District Court tomorrow.
