Construction group to protest at school buildings

The Construction Group of Unions is to begin a number of protests at school buildings and other projects today.

The protests are part of its Campaign for Decent Work in the Construction Industry, which aims to improve the working conditions of construction workers on school projects.

They say that workers are forced to be self-employed, while they are also denied many benefits.

The campaign gets underway this morning outside St Patrick's College in Drumcondra in Dublin, before moving to the Department of Education and Skills in the city centre.
