Clare County Council investigates asbestos waste

Clare County Council has commissioned an independent investigation into the disposal of asbestos waste.

Clare County Council has commissioned an independent investigation into the disposal of asbestos waste.

It follows the discovery of the hazardous material at nine sites around Kilrush and Kilkee.

The Council said the asbestos originated in its water services replacement and repair works.

It is warning the public about the health risks of the substance and said it will remove the asbestos as safely as possible.
