A man has been jailed for 10 years for the manslaughter of Ciaran Noonan who was abducted from East Wall in October 2011.

A man has been jailed for 10 years for the manslaughter of Ciaran Noonan who was abducted from East Wall in October 2011.

Daniel Quinn from Balbriggan admitted dragging the father of one into a car before he was dumped in a field near Trim, Co Meath.

A huge search operation was launched after Ciaran Noonan was kidnapped from Russell Avenue in broad daylight On October 20, 2011.

Gardaí were told he feared for his life after accidentally throwing out around €7k worth of cannabis that he was holding for somebody else.

Daniel Quinn admitted his part in Ciaran's death and led investigating officers to where his body was stripped and dumped in a field outside Trim.

Today, Judge Mary Ellen Ring noted that Quinn had no previous convictions but said she had to take a serious stance on crimes committed over drug debts.

She then jailed him for 10 years.

His co-accused - Lynn Isaacson with an address at Church Road, East Wall - was sentenced to three years behind bars for destroying phone evidence between her and one of the kidnappers.

Her sentence was suspended in full.
