Children to have say in new Ombudsman

Children are to be given a say in the search to find their new Ombudsman.

The current Ombudsman for Children, Emily Logan, leaves the post in two days to take up a new job as the head of Ireland's Human Rights Commission.

The vacant post will be filled by an open competition organised by the Public Appointments Service.

Children will be consulted during the recruitment drive and will even take part in interviews with candidates.
