Childcare workers to protest outside Dáil

Childcare workers are set to protest outside the Dáil later today.

They are calling for a wage hike amid claims that some workers in the sector can earn less than €10 per hour.

Financial advisor Eddie Hobbs has said that private workers feel left out when public workers get increases.

"We have to address our broken remuneration model … having far more harmony between public and private sector remuneration, which we don't have at the moment," he said.

"When these things happen, the private sector workforce is just excluded, standing from the sidelines in utter frustration."
