The Justice Minister Alan Shatter confirmed this evening that a new Charities Regulator will be appionted by Easter.
In a statement in the wake of the top ups scandal at the CRC Shatter said that while expressions of interest for the post will be advertised next week, an interim appointment will be made by the end of February.
It follows public outcry at news that €700,000 of charitable donations was used to fund the pension of the CRC's former chief executive Paul Kiely.
