Cavan company Obelisk in talks with staff about possible lay-offs

One of Cavan's largest employers is to shed 20 jobs, it was announced today.

One of Cavan's largest employers is in talks with workers about a number of possible lay-offs at the firm.

Obelisk currently employs 150 people.

The Communication Workers Union said that workers who were called to meetings with management yesterday, have been informed that all employees will have to reapply for their jobs.

Obelisk, which was established in 1996, provides solutions and resources to the telecommunications, civil engineering and energy sectors.
