Catherine's boss: Life sentence not enough for killer

Life behind bars is not good enough for the killer of Offaly woman Catherine Gowing, according to her former boss in Mold in North Wales, Seymour Evans.

46-year-old Clive Sharp was sentenced to a minimum of 37 years for murdering the 36-year-old in October of last year.

Catherine worked for D.E Evans Veterinary Practice since leaving college in May 2011 until the tragedy.

Mr Evans said Sharp should never have been on the streets because of his history of sexual violence.

He said: "I don't think any sentence would have been enough for what this man has done really.

"He has just been a beast and he never should have been out at all to do these crimes, because of what he admitted his fantasies were back 15 years ago."
