A shopping centre in Co Carlow is looking for 85 people to employ as elves over the Christmas period.

Management at Rathwood shopping and activity centre, on the Carlow / Wicklow border, want staff to man the Rathwood Santa Train Experience.

It marks an expansion of the Christmas team from 45 in 2011 to 85 in 2012.

Santa has told Rathwood that he wants elves that love Christmas, children and animals, and who are enthusiastic and outgoing.

Deadline for applications is Sunday, September 30, with work to start in late October.

Rathwood currently employs 55 people, on both a full and part-time basis.
