CAO reports record demand for college places

More than half of those looking to go to college this year have changed their mind about which course to study.

The Central Applications Office says just under 42,000 people took the option before this month's deadline.

2014 has turned out to be a record year for demand in college places, with a total of 77,725 applications submitted.

That is up more than 1,600 on last year's figures.
